Besides summer break, there is one thing all students look forward to at the end of the year: the much-anticipated high school annual. North Atlanta’s yearbook is titled “Invictus.” The year’s yearbook theme is “This is Our Year” and the book should be delivered to the school at some point in early-May.

Two of the main design aspects seen throughout the book are geometric circles and an emphasis on photography, which is seen through the use of large photos that are the primary focus on each respective page.

Quincy Staley, a junior, is the book’s editor-in-chief. She has worked on the annual staff since her freshman year. As principal editor, her main responsibilities include making final changes with the other editors before the yearbook is finished. A large part of her job has also been encouraging the yearbook staff while making sure they remained focused on meeting all deadlines.

This year’s annual staff has eight veteran staff members and the remainder was new staff members. “My favorite part about being part of the whole experience will be seeing the final product. There is a great sense of accomplishment and pride when we finally finish the yearbook,” said Staley.

The yearbooks aren’t coming until the week of May 9, but unfortunately it is too late to order one. The yearbook staff ordered several extras and there is a possibility that there will be an opportunity to order them over the summer. Although the yearbook is finished and has been shipped off to Jostens for printing, the staff is now working on designing our yearbook for the 2015-2016 school year.
