A Plant-Based Musical: Alexandria Smith, Delaney Dunn and Taylor Diamond are among the actors in North Atlanta’s “Little Shop of Horrors.”

A human-eating Venus fly trap and other varieties of theatrical zaniness will take place during year’s spring musical, “Little Shop of Horrors.” The North Atlanta Fine Arts Department will put on the popular musical for three performances on Tuesday, March 29, Wednesday, March 30, and Thursday, March 31. The show is directed by Carlos Hooper, North Atlanta’s theater arts teacher, and will star sophomore Mitch Gerding, junior Delaney Dunn, and seniors Taylor Diamond, Ameer Fofanah and Alexandria Smith.

Hooper has high hopes for the show and he believes it may be the best to date during his time at North Atlanta. “It’s quite funny and the cast is made up of a very talented group of students,” he said.

The actors in the play are equally enthused about the production. “It’s hilarious and you really never know what will happen next,” said Smith.

“There’s a giant plant called Audrey the Second and you’ll have to come watch the performance to see the crazy things he does,” said Diamond.

All performances will start at 7 p.m. in the school’s Linda Faye Stevenson Theater. Tickets are $10 for students and $15 for adults.
