From APS to MLB: Antonio Anderson’s Promising Future in Baseball

Everyone’s favorite draft prospect, Antonio Anderson, has been working hard this season before moving to the big leagues.

North Atlanta’s star baseball player, Antonio Anderson, is now committed to Georgia Tech to play D1 baseball. As of right now, he’s a draft prospect and a potential first-rounder. Until finding out the draft outcome on July 9th, Anderson is focusing on playing well this season and making his last year as a Warrior count.

As expected, Anderson is having a great start to the season, with a current batting average of .470. He leads the team with 22 RBIs and is tied with four home runs. He hopes to make a run for the state championship with his team and make school history before he starts his draft process. “We started off the season a little rough, but we’re back on track to hopefully win a state championship,” Anderson said.

Once the draft process starts, Anderson has the opportunity to travel to Seattle for the actual draft on the 9th, but he plans to stay home and celebrate with friends and family. In the week following the draft, he will sign his contract and begin training with the team. Along with the rest of the Dubs, Anderson is looking forward to his future in baseball. “I am very excited to start a new chapter in my life with new people and hope to someday play in the big leagues,” he said.

Despite his skill and a strong commitment to the sport, his talent doesn’t end with baseball. He has recently taken up a new hobby to add to his repertoire: selling clothing. With his friend Kam Orr, Anderson created a brand of his own, called Anti-local. The brand sells apparel that represents the idea of being worldwide, rather than remaining local. “I thought it would be cool to have my own brand, and I wanted to have something other than baseball,” Anderson said.

As his time on the Dubs team comes to a close, his friends, teammates, and coaches continue to prepare him both mentally and physically for the future. A player of Anderson’s caliber is one to keep an eye out for, so come watch him and the rest of the Dubs play before the season ends.
