Noelia German is an accomplished actress here at NAHS

Picture this: It’s the year 2030, and you’re in Hollywood taking in all the sights including Grauman’s Chinese Theater. It’s the place where you find the star walk of fame, the spot where A-listers put their handprints into cement. As you look down, you see two hand prints embalmed in the sidewalk that belong to none other than one-time North Atlanta student Noelia German. She’s a star! And — just think — you were a high school student with her in 2017 when this dream was very much on its way to becoming a reality.

German, an accomplished actress, spent her entire summer training at the American Academy of the Dramatic Arts in Hollywood. The school, with notable alumni like Paul Rudd, Sarah Paulson, Grace Kelly, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, and Danny DeVito, has proven to be a training grounds for those who have made it big in the film industry.

While most students spent their vacation relaxing, German was developing valuable acting techniques and working and learning around the clock. Her average week was split among A and B days much like North Atlanta and ended similarly around 3:30 p.m.

Some of the criteria she learned through the academy consisted of how to use your entire body for acting, using your voice in the correct manner, and being able to stay in character no matter what. During this time she was able to cultivate relationships with teachers and peers as well as building self disciple and networking skills.

Although most of German’s time was spent in class and on set, during her free time apart from rehearsing scripts, she ventured down Sunset Boulevard with her friends and ate lunch, went to the Griffith Observatory, and went to movie premiers.

While in Hollywood, every day was an adventure for the senior. She said her favorite parts were the two week sitcom class. By getting to perform monologues and scenes in front of actual working people in the industry during the five-week program, she was able to see what actual directors look for in actors as well as the best way to approach certain situations.

For a star-in-training, a trip to Hollywood was made more complete by getting to meet actual stars. While attending this program, she ran into Morgan Freeman, Emma Stone, Reese Witherspoon, Cara Delevigne, Zendaya, Tom Holland, Marrisa Tome, Robert Downey Jr, Meg Ryan, Diane Keaton, Andy Garcia, Chris Tucker, Conner Franta, Lisa Kudrow, the cast of “Spiderman: Homecoming,” and some of the sci-fi movie “Valerian.”

At present, German is very much rooted into her senior-year experienced. But thanks to this summer’s development in Hollywood, her cinematic dreams are well are their way to being realized. Catch a rising star, North Atlanta! Noellia German might be right next to you in your math class.
