Anticipation Builds for North Atlanta’s Got Talent

North Atlanta English teacher, Dr. Deanna Hasty, has recently spearheaded the annual school talent show, North Atlanta’s Got Talent. Among the Warriors, the show is a not-to-be-missed extravaganza, as students revel in seeing their classmates perform (and missing some of class!).

Dr. Hasty comments on the talent show, “We do this to raise spirit for the school. Plus it’s almost spring and it’s time for us to have a good time together.”

As the show’s director, Hasty has overseen a host of details. Auditions were held last week, on March 10. Thirty-eight students auditioned. The acts ranged from singing, to dancing, or even to magic. The participants were evaluated on charisma, confidence, talent and stage presence. After the final cuts were made, 19 acts earned the judges’ approval. These acts will be front and center in the school theater during the talent show.

North Atlanta’s Got Talent will take place on Monday, March 24; Wednesday, March 26; and Friday, March 28. The shows will take place during 4A classes, starting at 2 p.m. During 4A, students will go to their classes and then will travel to the theater with their teachers.

The talent show schedule is as follows:

● (Monday) (3/24), Floors 1 and 5 and also students in Ms. Dwionne Freeman and Mr. Tony Troutman’s rooms.

● (Wednesday) (3/26) Floors 6 and 8.

● (Friday) (3/28) Floors 10 and 11 plus Hillside room (not including Ms. Freeman and Mr. Troutman’s rooms).

The talent show has created a buzz all around school. Among the questions heard are: “Who’s in the show?”, “Who’s going?” and “Do we really get to miss 4th Period!?” The anticipation continues to build as the date draws nearer for the legendary show.
