From wretched to winning. Walking into the cafeteria now isn’t something to dread, it’s something to look forward to. You see people excited, talking about what’s being served that day like it’s the newest drop at a shoe store. The energy is different, and it’s all because of food that finally feels like it’s made for the intent of actually making students happy and full.
One big thing that’s made a difference is variety. Last year, you could practically predict the menu every week. It had the same bland options, barely warm, and honestly just kind of sad. Now? It’s like the menu got a complete makeover. There’s a mix of classic comfort food and new creative meals that don’t just taste better, but look way better too. You can tell there’s more effort being put into how things are prepared and presented. Even the burgers have leveled up, they’re juicier, the buns aren’t falling apart, and you actually get lettuce and tomato without feeling like it’s a rare upgrade. Another hit Item for me is definitely the Philly Cheesesteak. The awesome melted cheese along with the tender meat serves to be the perfect combination. With this the cheesesteak easily is my favorite new item on their now seemingly endless menu.
And let’s not forget the people behind all this: our lunch ladies. They’ve always been there, but now it feels like they’re getting the credit they deserve. You can see the pride in the way they serve the food, and they’ll even talk to you about what’s good that day. It’s like they’ve been given more control, or maybe just more respect, and it’s showing in every meal.
Honestly, this change has done more than just improve lunch. it’s improved the whole vibe of the school. When you’re fed well, you feel better. People have more energy going into class, there’s less complaining, and it just brings a more positive mood overall. I know it sounds kind of dramatic to say school lunch changed the school, but if you’ve been here, you know exactly what I mean. Teachers are happier to teach, students are happier to be learning. There’s a lot more in store and to come with better school food than meets the eye.
Honestly hats off to whoever made this happen. whether it was the admin, the lunch staff, or even the students who kept speaking up. Because now, instead of trading away my lunch or heading to class hungry, I’m finishing everything on my tray and sometimes even going back for seconds. Never thought I’d say it, but school lunch is kind of fire now.
