With the start of school and all of the Dub athletes walking the halls, sports are back! While fall sports are in gear, the spring sports start preparation for their new seasons. Captains are itching for the season to come, following many stellar performances last year. Captains are holding practices, lifts, and even team bonding events to let the spring be all about having fun and leaving it all on the field.
Coming off of a rough 2025 season, the lacrosse team went 4-16. The team is willing to do whatever it takes to turn things around. They are holding off season lifts, captain practices, and the beloved fall ball. Junior captain Ben Fancher is planning on taking his army the distance this season and he knows it starts with the off season. “We take the off season very seriously,” Fancher said. “It’s a time that we use to grow and better ourselves for the upcoming season.”
Coming off of an upsetting playoff loss, the boys soccer team is ready to get back into action. A popular spring sport among the fans is ready to repeat an outstanding regular season and hoping to make a deep playoff push. The team prides itself on its brotherly environment which they have built through the fall captain practices. These are opportunities for players to come out and make a name for themselves before tryouts. Senior captain, Sully Clausen, is ready to help lead the Dubs to a playoff run of the century. “These captains’ practices are not just a time for players to show talent, but also a chance to create a brotherhood,” Clausen said.
From the solid performance in 2025 the baseball team is on a hunt. The boys are hungry for more as they finished third in region and were eliminated in the first round of playoffs last year. To improve, the team goes out to the field and does live at bats and fielding routines to sharpen their skills. These opportunities build overall morale and team chemistry which is key when playing everyday like they do. Senior Ryan Edwards is a major leader on the team and he wants to end his last year on a high. “This year we are going to need everyone,” Edwards said. “Everyone has to believe in the brotherhood.”
The spring is going to be something to look forward to concerning the Dub athletes. These captains are all focused on one thing: to win the whole thing.
