Warriors: strike a pose! Roughly a month in from summer break, students aren’t just thinking about AP tests– they’re thinking about what to wear. Unlike many of the schools surrounding North Atlanta, NAHS does not require its students to wear uniforms. And after a few months of summer relaxation, styles are changing faster than ever. What we wear can reveal more about us than we’d think. With that being said, one question remains: who is among the best dressed at NAHS?
The weather isn’t the only thing that changes over the summer– it’s the fashion trends. With over 2,400 students at NAHS, the hallways are transformed into a runway when the clock strikes 8:30. A mix of timeless and trending, you’re sure to find styles of any and every kind throughout the Dubs. However, certain styles continue to create a pattern throughout NAHS, showing which looks students can’t get enough of. Freshman Camila Glay has noticed one style dominating the halls. “Street style is everywhere – I can’t walk into the elevators without spotting at least one person wearing it,” she said.
Unless you’re a morning person, coming back from summer can make mornings ten times harder. Long hours of homework and studying take up enough time as it is. Are students willing to put in the same amount of effort into their outfits as they do into their math homework? For many, the simple answer is no. But not for sophomore Addie Patton, who is willing to go the extra mile to look her best. “Most days I try to plan my outfits the night before because it’s totally worth the extra five minutes of sleep in the morning,” she said. “Also, it’s less of a headache to think about in the morning.”
Some fashion trends are too good to stay buried in the past– they’re screaming for a comeback. These trends merge versatility with nostalgia, making them ideal for many of the Dubs’ style-savvy crowds. One of the latest student-approved trends that deserves a stylish resurrection comes from freshman Makayla Thompson, who is choosing to revisit the 2000s. Thompson said, “I feel like layered shirts from the 2000s should be more popular. It’s so underrated, and I wish everyone would bring them back.”
From bold throwbacks to fresh finds, NAHS students are proving that style isn’t just clothes – it’s a way to tell a story. Outfits show attitude, confidence, and flair on full display. At this school, one thing is clear: the Warriors aren’t just following trends– they’re creating them.
