The 2025-26 season for the North Atlanta men’s basketball team has been nothing but historic and it is far from over. Their record currently sits at 17-7 with one game remaining, this is their best start through 24 games since their 2020-21 season. They also have secured the second seed in region 6-AAAAAA for only the second time since moving into the old IBM building, and still have a chance of getting the one seed which has never been done.
Coach Wells and her staff have done an amazing job making a change in the culture throughout the entire men’s basketball program. In just her second season as the head coach, she has increased her win count by 5 and moved up 2 seeds in the highly competitive region 6-AAAAAA. The Warriors coaching staff have been gaining some much deserved respect around Georgia.
Leading the team on the court is the three headed monster of Nehemiah Michael, Jace Edwards, and RJ Scott. Michael, the starting point guard, leads the team in points-per-game and turns the ball over very little, allowing for the Dubs to have productive offensive possessions. Edwards, who leads the team in assists, is an extremely explosive combo guard who can take flight at any given moment; he had an electric poster dunk against Lambert to give the Warriors the 2 seed. Scott, a stretch four can do it all for the boys in black in silver, he rebounds, scores, and is a force to be reckoned with on defense.
With senior night approaching, the goal is to win and to win big time against the West Forsyth Wolverines at home. The last two home games, the Warriors have absolutely dominated, outscoring their opponents 128-71. The crowds have been absolutely electric. The players have fed into the energy given to them by the students, the crowd acts like a 6th man for them. Seniors Kevin Assumin, Asher Maclane, and Noah Sudu are getting ready to play their last home game, and they have been loving the recent support. “It feels like an entire community is behind us when we run out on that court, “ said Maclane. The community is indeed with him!
With one last regular season game left, the Dubs are locking in on the region tournament where they hope to clinch a one seed in the state playoffs and bring home the teams first region championship since 2009-10. Their story’s not over, it’s just the beginning of a legacy in the making.
