Bop to The Beat: North Atlanta Warriors all crowd to Music Midtown in order to listen to some of the more iconic, or underrated, bands lining up this year.

A majority of North Atlanta’s students spent the past weekend jamming out to music with their friends at the grooviest festival in Atlanta: Music Midtown. The festival happened on the weekend of September 15th and 16th, lasting from noon until night and featuring bands and music artists of all kinds. It definitely turned out to be an incredible weekend, and the Warriors loved every single second.

Music Midtown has been stealing Atlanta’s heart for years now. Music artists have been coming to this iconic event since the 1990s, and people have continued to obsess over it, causing it to continue to run every year. It takes place in Piedmont Park, which is transformed into a music lover’s dream for the weekend – filled with stages and lights, as well as with much admired singers and bands. The festival is looked forward to by many all year long, and is attended by Atlanta natives and people from all over Georgia, as well as some traveling from even further away, sometimes as far as the other side of the country.

The array of music styles at Music Midtown spanned from rap to alternative, and everything in between. This year’s lineup included a wide range of talent, including well known names like Post Malone, Imagine Dragons, Billie Eilish, and Kendrick Lamar. Junior Sydney Miller loved getting to see these well known bands, and was especially happy with Post Malone’s performance. “Post was definitely my favorite.” she said, “He has so many good songs and it’s really easy to get into the words and the music.”

Along with the bigger names in music talent, the festival also featured up and coming, less mainstream bands such as Two Feet, The Revivalists, and Arizona. Many people came to Music Midtown to hear new artists and to discover new music, which was easily achieved. One of the smaller bands that came this year was LovelyTheBand, which Junior Taylor Hicks was a big fan of. “I had no idea about them before buying my Music Midtown tickets, and I ended up really liking them.” she said.

North Atlanta students returned from the festival happily tired, doused in glitter, and holding onto a whole lot of fun new memories. “Music Midtown is the perfect place for friends to come together and enjoy great music.” Senior Graham Humphreys said, “That’s exactly what this weekend turned out to be.”
