The North Atlanta High School JROTC program has ranked as the strongest JROTC program within the Atlanta School system.

The ranking came in the wake of the school district’s annual accreditation assessment visit that took place on December 11. The accrediting team was led by Lt. Col. Robert Rooker, APS director of Army instruction. The visiting accreditors took a JROTC department tour, reviewed a cadet continuous improvement briefing, inspected cadet portfolios, did cadet Interviews, and conducted inspections of drills and ceremonies.

In the prior year, North Atlanta’s JROTC program was second place within the school district. The program started in 1992 and today has a total of 233 student participants.

“This accreditation honor shows that we’re right on track where our teaching and curriculum are concerned. We’re proud of what we’re doing here but most of all we’re proud of this dedicated and professional group of students we’re honored to lead,” said Lt. Col. Lynette Minnick, director of the North Atlanta JROTC program.
