North Atlanta Prom-Goers Set to “Glow” on Saturday Night

The most anticipated event of the year, prom, is just around the corner and will take place in downtown Atlanta on Saturday night. This year’s theme, “Tonight, We Glow,” was chosen by students and is sure to be a crowd-pleaser. Prepare yourself for an enchanting evening surrounded by illuminated elements of nature all under a glowing midnight sky.

The price of the tickets may seem a little high, but it’s definitely worth the buy. Not only will event-goers gain life-long lasting memories, but with every purchase of a prom ticket those who attend receive a free ride on SkyView Atlanta, the new downtown Ferris wheel just a couple of blocks from The Omni Hotel, where prom is located this year. There’s no better way to cap off your prom experience than with the beautiful views of downtown Atlanta.

The doors at the event space in the hotel will open at 7 p.m. Make sure to arrive ready to dance the night away on the dance floor. “Because of the many events taking place the same weekend, students should prepare themselves for lots of traffic,” said English teacher Star Brackin, who returns in her role as prom coordinator. Also, be sure not to miss the senior walk at 9:30 p.m.

Junior Izzy Bergholz hasn’t quite decided on the details for her prom night yet. “Me and my friends are either going to a fancy restaurant or Waffle House before the event. Mostly likely it will be Waffle House,” Bergholz said with a smile.

When asked about her dress, the junior was ready to gush. “I found my dress over spring break. It’s a long black gown and I can’t wait to wear it,” she said.

Dressed to the nines, in action-packed downtown Atlanta, she will be part of a glamorous shimmering big city event that will attract hundreds. This year, Warriors won’t just go to prom. They will “glow” to prom.
