Bourne For This

The fifth installment of the addicting Bourne film series did not live up to the other movies but did not disappoint either. In the past movies we discover that he volunteered for a program the CIA created, called Treadstone. Bourne thought he was doing the right thing for his country by volunteering, but he was turned into an assassin that was unparalleled in skill. He discovered that the CIA was corrupt and sought to change it. Thus his long journey began.

In comparison to the other Bourne movies, this one wasn’t as focused on the present. There were many flashbacks, which can lead to you being distracted from the story. The hype of the movie could have caused it to be a partial letdown because it was very heavily advertised. In order to enjoy a Bourne movie, you have to be involved in the story and what is happening to him. Many people have been involved in the Bourne series since the first movie came out in 2002.

“Jason Bourne” continues to bring in fans to the theater everyday. The beginning of the movie could be described as fast-paced and skips around frequently, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t keep your attention. I was on the edge of my seat for the entirety of the movie. You don’t necessarily have to have seen the previous Bourne movies to watch this but it makes the movie more understandable and easier to follow if you do. Movie theaters have been packed since it has come out and will, probably, continue to be until it leaves the theaters. This movie is very intense, captivating and I would recommend it to anyone as long as they like action. One thing that should be said is that you don’t mess with Jason Bourne.
