Nicolas Delporte has made a name for himself as an entrepreneur at North Atlanta.

The North Atlanta High School Entrepreneurs Society is our school’s best option for learning about small business with real world skills and experience. Junior Nicolas Delporte is the founder and leader of the club. His interests are mainly vested in business, but they also span the fields of politics and law.

As a self-described “globalist,” Delporte has been involved in Governor’s Honors Program in world languages and he’s also travelled abroad to China. A multi-linguist he speaks French, Spanish and serviceable Chinese. “From an early age I’ve just always been into the different ways of viewing the world and learning languages is part of this,” he said.

Last school year, Delporte felt there was a need for a small-business focused club so he organized this school’s Entrepreneurs Society. Since that founding act in March 2016 the group has grown to 40 members. Delporte, the group’s leader, has organized field trips and has given consultative advice to members who come up with their own business ideas.

His impressive resume is what has allowed him to push himself and numerous North Atlanta students to the benefits of success. Not only do his peers notice his success, but teachers acknowledge his academic prowess as well. “He’s hardworking, ambitious student and a real joy to teach. He’s just a great well-rounded student,” said literature teacher Brianna Levels.

This year Delporte is leading plans to have members attend a field trip to different businesses around Atlanta. He is an acquaintance with an executive at Goldman Sachs here in Atlanta, so the investment firm is a natural candidate for a first club field trip.

Beyond his own club, Delporte has also been active in North Atlanta’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and has led that club’s stock market committee.

Delporte’s preference is to study at an Ivy League school for college where he wants to study economics. The degree will help pave his way for a career in business. And with this trajectory in mind, he wants to eventually work in  commercial real estate investment. “It’s an industry that allows your company to implement tangible presence all over the world,” he said.

Those wanting to catch a rising business star can go to the corridors of power and seek them out there. Or they can catch up with Delporte, an individual right here in our ranks at North Atlanta. One day destined to shape our country? We’ll see. But he’s certainly shaping our school here and now.
