What It Means to be a 2014 Senior at NAHS

Emojis, JLaw, Twerk

Over the course of the last four years, the class of 2014 has been exposed to some unforgettable moments. From selfies in the hallways to routine elevator malfunctions, there is no doubt that these memories will last until the end of time.

North Atlanta High School will forever be home to Instagram names scribbled across a smudged white board, Snapchats sent to a BFF during a dull class period, and Duck Facing in the cafeteria when in need of a new Facebook profile picture.

The class of 2014 will always remember uniting over “Bloody Friday,” making the transition from the old building to the new building, and having three principals in four years.

We can always fondly look back on our marching band that consistently outshined the football team, and the slow acquisition of school spirit, which was initially a foreign concept.

We will never know what it was the fox had to say, will forever be astounded that “twerk” made it into the Oxford Dictionary, and will continue to be dazzled by Jennifer Lawrence. Of course, words aren’t needed to express the confusion, disbelief, and admiration – we use emojis for that.

The experience was not perfect, by any standard. But as Macklemore said while Thrift Shoppin’, “this is freaking awesome.” And at the end of the day, we have some awesome memories. And selfies.
