Most games on a schedule pass by without leaving much behind. They are played, recorded, and chalked up as “just another game.” Some games, however, carry a different kind of significance. These are the moments that every player dreams of. The packed stands. The pressure to succeed. The chance to be clutch, silence a crowd, or cement one’s legacy as a star player. As all Warrior sports fans are approaching the waning weeks of this 2025-26 school year, there have been too many games to mention. But still, three games stand out on this year’s crowded sports calendar that truly defined Warrior excellence.
February 3 – Men’s Basketball: North Atlanta Warriors vs. Lambert Longhorns
The North Atlanta Warriors took on the undefeated Lambert Longhorns in front of a rowdy student section and a packed crowd. North Atlanta came out firing, with junior guard Nehemiah Michael pouring in 18 of the Dubs’ 34 first-half points, though Lambert stayed within striking distance. In the second half, the Warriors only widened that gap. While North Atlanta stayed sharp on both ends, Lambert lost its footing. The Dubs pulled away for a commanding 73-46 victory, punctuated by a Jace Edwards dunk over Lambert star Will Dolfer that sent the home crowd into a frenzy. “I bet Will Dolfer still wakes up in a cold sweat thinking about that night,” said junior John Stevens.
March 3 – Girls Soccer: North Atlanta Warriors vs. Lambert Longhorns
The North Atlanta girls’ soccer team took on the Lambert Longhorns in a crucial region matchup. Lambert was in control most of the game, netting an early goal and holding the Warriors scoreless. With just ten minutes remaining, sophomore striker Mohannah Hoskins broke past the Lambert back line and buried a clutch goal, tying the score at 1-1. The Dubs endured two overtime periods, holding the Longhorns scoreless, so the game was sent to penalty kicks. With the score tied 4-4, junior phenom Francie Herring stepped up to the line and nailed a goal into the back of the net. “As soon as she walked up to the line, I knew she was going to make that goal,” said senior midfielder Hanna Huckabee.
September 12 – Dub Football: North Atlanta Warriors vs. Forsyth Central Bulldogs
In the opening region game of the year, the Dubs traveled to Forsyth Central Stadium to take on the Bulldogs on their homecoming night. North Atlanta wasted no time spoiling the Bulldogs’ celebration, dominating on both sides of the ball and amassing a 28-3 lead at halftime. Atlanta natives know that a 28-3 halftime lead doesn’t guarantee a win, but the Dubs tacked on two more scores in the second half for good measure. The Warriors’ commanding win left the homecoming crowd in stunned silence, while North Atlanta celebrated a statement victory on the road. “That’s probably the best game we played all year,” said junior quarterback Weston Goodman. “We walked in their trap and took over their trap.”
