Star student, artist and soccer athlete, senior Bonnie Shea has made her mark at North Atlanta.

Many things come to mind when people think of Bonnie Shea. From a star in the classroom to a star on the soccer field, the North Atlanta senior can do just about it all.

She is one of the top-ranked students in her class with a flawless 4.0 grade point average, something even more noteworthy since she’s accomplished this feat from within the school’s tough International Baccalaureate program.

The strength of her art work means her art teachers regard her as one of North Atlanta’s most promising student artists and her work has been showcased in multiple North Atlanta exhibitions both in and outside of school. “Art is one of my many passions,” said Shea.

A star in the classroom and in the art department, Shea is even more noteworthy as a virtuoso on the soccer field. For the past four years, contributions from the midfielder have brought the girls varsity team to new levels of success. During her tenure, the team had two significant runs in the state playoffs including a semifinal game in her sophomore year and a quarterfinal game in her junior year.

Shea’s talent has been noted well beyond North Atlanta and the region it plays in, so much so that she earned a scholarship to play at Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H., where she’ll begin playing this fall. “I love the campus and the school and I’ll be so excited to start. I’m definitely ready to play on the next level,” she said.

Shea has played for the women’s varsity soccer team all four years at North Atlanta. She was captain during this season and held the team together through a tough season where the Warriors had only 4 wins against 9 losses as the waded through a competition in a tough new region. “It was hard but I tried to keep a positive attitude circulating around the team,” said Shea. “Even through all the adversity, the season was always a fun one because playing with such a great group of girls was so enjoyable.”

She has been one of North Atlanta’s most talented students and athletes, one who is admired equally by her teachers and student peers. The North Atlanta community will be excited to see what the future holds for Shea and where her talents and passions will take her.
