Europe Bound: In their last summer before college, Class of 2018 members Nick Hallett and Sloan Hooper are planning on taking on a grand tour of Europe.

It’s been four long years of high school for seniors and their time at North Atlanta High School is running out fast. While commiting to college and studying for upcoming AP or IB exams take up most of their last days, many have still managed to make time for putting together some fun summer plans. From visiting the Swiss Alps to the bright lights of Broadway, summer vacation for many in the Class of 2018 will be anything but boring.

Seniors Sloan Hooper and Nick Hallett plan to enjoy their break by touring the highlights of Europe. Hooper, who will be attending University of St. Andrews in Scotland in the fall, figured that exploring the countries nearby her new home away from home would be a great way to start the year off right. They’ve been getting their backpacks ready for their two week adventure, which will include stops in Paris, the Swiss Alps, Florence, and Venice. “This is definitely something I’ve been waiting to check off my bucket list,” said Hallett.

Senior Nicolas Delporte is also headed to Europe this summer. He plans to spend three weeks in Germany to experience the culture and check out the many luxury car factories of classic brands, such as BMW and Porsche. “Even though I don’t have a German heritage, I’ve always had a passion for learning about their history and customs,” said Delporte.

However, many seniors like Will Butler, are planning to stay in the U.S. for summer vacation. Butler and his family plan to fly to New York for their last vacation before Butler heads off to college. Even though they will not be in the city for long, they plan to make the most of their time by seeing the highlights and going to the Tony award-winning show “Hamilton.”

With only a few days left in high school, this year’s graduating seniors have big plans for the summer, which is only the beginning as they start a new chapter in their lives as they head to college.
