“Dub Spirit” Richly on Display During North Atlanta-Northview Game

Hard-Fought Defeat: Junior Sterling Fleury reflects back on the tough loss. “I left it all on the field, it just stinks we came up short.”

The 2018 Warrior varsity football team continues its turnaround season. The team’s spirit was richly on display during its Oct. 5 hard-fought game against Alpharetta. The Warriors led for much of the night against its region rival but gave up the lead toward the end and dropped the game 17 to 15 against the Raiders.

The prior week, on Sept. 28 the team held a halftime lead against the Northview Titans but came up short in the 40-26 loss. In both cases, the Dubs played competitively against programs that a year prior dispatched them with comparative ease.

The team’s current record is 3 wins and 3 losses, and a 1 and 3 record in region play. During the Northview game, Wire contributing photographer Anthony Randall was on the sidelines capturing the pre-game build up and the emotions associated with the game. The senior North Atlanta student is a master at photo-journalistically finding the shots that reveal the optimistic character of North Atlanta’s cheerleaders and athletic trainers, along with the fighting spirit of the young men who comprise this year’s varsity football team. Randall’s photographic montage is entitled: “The Dub Spirit.”
